This One's Personal

I grew up on the shores of St. Lucia, where the water is warm, the days are long, and the women are strong.

That island spirit shaped me. It taught me to admire beauty without apology and gave me an eye for bold colour, an appreciation for things made with care, and a deep respect for women who create, provide and build lives of their own.

Sandy Bottom started with a simple idea: what if I could create something that honoured the women I grew up around and the woman I was becoming?

When my daughter left for university, I felt the shift. The house became quieter, and I found myself at a crossroads: stay where I was comfortable or build something entirely new.

I chose new.

I wanted to show my daughter that reinvention doesn’t have an age limit. That you can take a risk, learn something completely unfamiliar and start again. And that betting on yourself is always worth it.

Sandy Bottom was created from that chapter of my life. But somewhere along the way, it became about much more than my own reinvention.

Across Colombia, Italy and Greece, we work with talented women whose skill and craftsmanship give our pieces their character.

They are designers, artisans, mothers, entrepreneurs and heads of households. Some work from their own studios. Others have built workshops that provide opportunities for women in their communities. Many work with techniques learned and perfected over generations.

Their hands bead, crochet, knot, sew and finish the details that make our swimwear different.

Their work isn’t a footnote to Sandy Bottom. It’s part of the reason Sandy Bottom exists.

We have no interest in making thousands of the same swimsuit.

Sandy Bottom pieces are produced in intentionally small quantities, with some collections numbering as few as 19 or 20 pieces. Many require hours and sometimes days of detailed handwork.

When a small batch is gone, it may never return.

That rarity is intentional. We believe remarkable craftsmanship deserves to feel special, and the women behind it deserve to have their work valued.

Sandy Bottom is for the woman who wants something she won’t see everywhere.

The woman who appreciates the story behind what she wears. Who notices the beadwork, the crochet, the unexpected detail and the hours of work another woman put into creating it.

She doesn’t need another ordinary swimsuit.

Neither do we.

Every Sandy Bottom piece is carefully curated, women-made, small-batch and purposely rare.

This isn’t fast fashion. It’s swimwear with soul, shaped by women, connected by craftsmanship and created to make the beach or pool feel a little more like your runway.

This is our international sisterhood.

WHY CHOOSE US

Because extraordinary shouldn’t be everywhere.

We choose small batches over mass production, craftsmanship over shortcuts, and pieces with character over disposable trends.

Our swimwear is created and made by talented women in Colombia, Italy and Greece, with handmade details that can take hours, sometimes days to complete. Some collections are limited to just 19 or 20 pieces.

The result is swimwear that feels different because it is different.
