The Hands Behind It
The Daphne Bikini is part of Sandy Bottom's first collection made in Greece, created by a small family atelier whose story is as meaningful to us as the pieces themselves.
Founded by a woman during one of Greece's most challenging economic periods, the atelier grew from her creative passion into a family business. Today, her two daughters work alongside their mother, preserving the belief that started it all:

Each Daphne bottom is finished by hand in Greece, from the delicate sequin embellishment to the beaded tassels suspended from its ties.
These aren't decorative details stamped onto thousands of identical pieces.
They're small moments of handwork that require someone to sit down and actually make them.
Why It's Priced This Way
It's easy to overlook the work in something small.
We don't.
The sequins running along Daphne's edge have to be applied. The beads decorating its tassels have to be placed. The finishing has to be done carefully enough to sit alongside a bikini top whose surface is covered in intricate handwork.
And all of that takes time and skilled hands.
The price reflects the craftsmanship, premium materials and hand-finishing behind the piece, as well as our commitment to working with makers who value quality over production volume.
Because craftsmanship doesn't suddenly matter less just because the piece is smaller.
Why Greece?
We didn't go looking for a Greek collection because Greece was trending.
We went looking for exceptional makers.
Our search has taken Sandy Bottom from Colombia to Brazil to Italy, following craftsmanship rather than geography. When we discovered this family-run atelier and learned how they work, Greece became the natural next chapter.

Made in Limited Quantities
Daphne is produced in intentionally limited quantities because intricate hand-finishing cannot and should not be rushed.
The atelier makes fewer pieces so they can spend more time on each one.
For us, that's what limited production should actually mean.

I grew up on the shores of St. Lucia, where the water is warm, the days are long, and the women are strong. That island spirit shaped me. It gave me an eye for beauty, a love for bold colour, and a deep respect for women who do it all with grace.
Sandy Bottom started with a simple idea: what if I could create something that honoured the women I grew up around and the woman I was becoming?
When my daughter left for university, I decided to show her something important: that reinvention doesn’t have an age limit. That it’s never too late to build something from scratch. That betting on yourself is always worth it.
But this brand isn’t just about me. It’s about women everywhere. The artisans from Colombia to Italy, Bali to Brazil who hand make every piece with skill, heart, and tradition. The women keeping generations of craftsmanship alive while shaping futures of their own.. And the customers who choose slow fashion over fast trends, and impact over impulse.
