Every Mara Bikini Top is handcrafted by Patricia and her team of women artisans in Cartagena, Colombia.
Each piece is individually cut from rare vintage fabric before Patricia hand-applies every strand of beading. Working in small batches allows every bikini to receive the time, precision, and craftsmanship that machine production could never replicate. No shortcuts. No assembly lines. Just skilled hands creating something truly rare.
Why It's Priced This Way
The Mara Bikini Top combines three things that are increasingly difficult to find: true vintage fabric, intricate hand-beading, and skilled artisan craftsmanship.
Every purchase supports fair wages for Patricia and her team, many of whom are mothers and heads of household. Creating only 23 pieces means we never benefit from the production efficiencies available to larger brands. Instead, we invest in exceptional materials, traditional craftsmanship, and the women whose skill brings every Mara Bikini Top to life.
Limited Production
Only 23 Mara Bikini Tops were ever made.
Once the vintage fabric was gone, the collection was complete. There will be no restock, no reproduction, and no second production run. Some pieces are limited by design. Mara is limited by history.

I grew up on the shores of St. Lucia, where the water is warm, the days are long, and the women are strong. That island spirit shaped me. It gave me an eye for beauty, a love for bold colour, and a deep respect for women who do it all with grace.
Sandy Bottom started with a simple idea: what if I could create something that honoured the women I grew up around and the woman I was becoming?
When my daughter left for university, I decided to show her something important: that reinvention doesn’t have an age limit. That it’s never too late to build something from scratch. That betting on yourself is always worth it.
But this brand isn’t just about me. It’s about women everywhere. The artisans from Colombia to Italy, Bali to Brazil who hand make every piece with skill, heart, and tradition.
