The Hands Behind It
Every woven panel begins in rural Colombia, where artisan communities carefully harvest and prepare natural Banana Fibre before weaving each piece entirely by hand using techniques passed down through generations.
The bikini top is then cut, sewn, and hand-finished in a small Colombian atelier by women artisans, many of them mothers and heads of household. Every woven detail reflects the patience, skill, and tradition that can only come from true handcraft.

Its price reflects the craftsmanship behind every woven Banana Fibre panel, the women who carefully construct each bikini top, and the time required to produce every piece in small batches rather than on an assembly line. Choosing slower production allows us to support fair wages, preserve traditional craftsmanship, and create swimwear that simply cannot be mass produced.

Odilla is produced in intentionally small batches and will not be restocked once it sells out.
Working with handwoven natural fibres means every piece takes time to create. We choose to make fewer pieces, giving every artisan the time and care needed to preserve the craftsmanship that makes Odilla so special.

I grew up on the shores of St. Lucia, where the water is warm, the days are long, and the women are strong. That island spirit shaped me. It gave me an eye for beauty, a love for bold colour, and a deep respect for women who do it all with grace.
Sandy Bottom started with a simple idea: what if I could create something that honoured the women I grew up around and the woman I was becoming?
When my daughter left for university, I decided to show her something important: that reinvention doesn’t have an age limit. That it’s never too late to build something from scratch. That betting on yourself is always worth it.
But this brand isn’t just about me. It’s about women everywhere. The artisans from Colombia to Italy, Bali to Brazil who hand make every piece with skill, heart, and tradition. The women keeping generations of craftsmanship alive while shaping futures of their own.. And the customers who choose slow fashion over fast trends, and impact over impulse.
