Inspired by the glamour of iconic '80s silhouettes and reimagined through the lens of modern craftsmanship, Perla is a celebration of artistry, rarity and slow luxury. Its sculpted high-leg silhouette, barely-there sides and open back create a striking profile, while thousands of hand-applied glass beads catch the light with every movement.
Beneath the intricate beadwork lies a soft watercolour floral print, creating remarkable depth and a subtle shimmer that changes beautifully in the sun.
It's a swimsuit designed not only to be worn, but remembered.
Every Perla One Piece is hand-beaded by Patricia and her team of skilled women artisans in Cartagena, Colombia.
Each swimsuit takes approximately 30 hours to complete as thousands of delicate glass beads are stitched into place entirely by hand. Every bead is carefully positioned to follow the print beneath, creating dimension, texture and movement that simply can't be achieved by machine.
No two pieces are ever exactly alike -- a reflection of the women whose craftsmanship brings every Perla to life.
Perla reflects the time, craftsmanship and artistry invested in every piece.
Each swimsuit combines premium materials with approximately 30 hours of meticulous hand beadwork, completed by Patricia and her team of skilled women artisans in Cartagena, Colombia.
Because we produce in intentionally small batches, we never benefit from the large production discounts available to mass-market brands. Instead, every piece reflects fair wages for the women who create it, exceptional craftsmanship, and the time required to bring thousands of hand-applied beads together—one bead at a time.
This isn't the cost of mass production.
It's the value of craftsmanship.

Created as part of our limited-edition New York Edit, this design will never be reproduced.
Once the final piece is gone, Perla becomes part of Sandy Bottom's story—a rare collection that existed only once.

I grew up on the shores of St. Lucia, where the water is warm, the days are long, and the women are strong. That island spirit shaped me. It gave me an eye for beauty, a love for bold colour, and a deep respect for women who do it all with grace.
Sandy Bottom started with a simple idea: what if I could create something that honoured the women I grew up around and the woman I was becoming?
When my daughter left for university, I decided to show her something important: that reinvention doesn’t have an age limit. That it’s never too late to build something from scratch. That betting on yourself is always worth it.
But this brand isn’t just about me. It’s about women everywhere. The artisans from Colombia to Italy, Bali to Brazil who hand make every piece with skill, heart, and tradition. The women keeping generations of craftsmanship alive while shaping futures of their own.. And the customers who choose slow fashion over fast trends, and impact over impulse.
