The garden doesn't stop at the top. Rhea's matching bottom is embellished entirely by hand in Greece, one tiny detail at a time.
The Rhea Tie-Side Bikini Bottom carries the artistry of the matching top into a beautifully minimal silhouette. Across its soft blush base, hand-beaded flowers, pastel sequins, tiny leaves, crystals and dimensional appliqués create a miniature garden in shades of aqua, blue, peach and yellow.
Slim adjustable side ties keep the shape delicate and customizable, while the intricate embellishment transforms a classic string bottom into something unmistakably special.
Look quickly and it's beautiful.
Look closely and you begin to understand why.
Pair it with the Rhea Triangle Bikini Top for the complete hand-beaded set.
The Hands Behind It
Every Rhea bottom passes through the hands of skilled artisans at the small family atelier behind Sandy Bottom's first Greek collection.
The studio began with one woman during one of Greece's most difficult economic periods and has since grown into a family business, with her two daughters now working alongside her.
But growth hasn't meant abandoning the way the pieces are made.
Rhea is still embellished by hand in Greece. Individual beads are stitched into flowers and botanical shapes. Sequins are layered to create petals. Crystals are placed at the centres of blooms. Tiny details are added until the design feels complete.
It is painstaking work on one of the smallest pieces in the collection.
Which, to us, makes it even more remarkable.
Why It's Priced This Way
A bikini bottom uses less fabric.
It doesn't necessarily require less craftsmanship.
The surface of Rhea is filled with the same techniques found on the matching top: hand-beading, sequin work, dimensional appliqués, crystal accents and tiny embroidered botanical details.
Every one of those details requires materials.
More importantly, every one requires someone's time.
The price reflects the skilled handwork and thoughtful production behind each piece because we believe the value of something should be measured by more than the amount of fabric you can see.
It's the work you should look at.
Why Greece?
Sandy Bottom has never been interested in simply finding another place to manufacture swimwear.
We look for makers.
People who still care about technique. Families protecting skills that take years to learn. Small ateliers willing to produce fewer pieces because they refuse to compromise the work simply to make more.
That's what we found in Greece.
Rhea is part of our first collection created there and the continuation of a Sandy Bottom story that has already taken us through Colombia, Brazil and Italy.
Different countries. Different techniques.
The same respect for the hands behind every piece.
Made in Limited Quantities
Rhea is made in intentionally limited quantities because its handwork sets the pace.
Not a production target.
Not a machine.
The people making it.
Producing fewer pieces gives the atelier the time each one deserves and means what arrives in your hands still carries the unmistakable character of something made slowly.
Complete the Set
The Rhea Tie-Side Bikini Bottom was created to pair with the Rhea Triangle Bikini Top, where the botanical handwork continues across both cups in an even more intricate arrangement of beads, sequins, crystals and dimensional flowers.
Wear them together and what looks like a bikini from a distance becomes something very different up close.

At Sandy Bottom, every piece is curated with intention and crafted with care. To keep your swimsuit looking vibrant and beautiful, we recommend the following:
For Beaded & Hand-Embroidered Pieces
Our beaded and hand-embroidered styles are made stitch by stitch and bead by bead, so they call for a little extra care:
Hand wash only, and as gently as possible. Never soak, scrub, or wring.
Turn the piece inside out before washing to protect the beadwork and embroidery.
Never machine wash or machine dry. Beads and threads can loosen, catch, or fall off.
Store flat or loosely folded, away from jewelry, zippers, or anything that could snag the beadwork.
Minor bead loss with wear over time is normal for handcrafted pieces, not a defect. It's part of what makes each one made by hand, not by machine.
Remember, your Sandy Bottom swimsuit is a small-batch work of art. With the right care, it will stay stunning season after season.
